Valenda J is a digital illustrator and graphic designer in Orlando, Florida, specializing in visual storytelling, brand identity, and purpose driven design for brands and individuals. Visual Storytelling Rooted in Culture & Perspective

Valenda’s creative journey began long before formal training, starting in the early 2000s, designing custom layouts and visuals for her MySpace purely out of creative curiosity. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Broward County, she is a Haitian-American artist shaped by diverse cultures, communities, and creative influences. These experiences continue to inform her eye for storytelling and culturally grounded design.

During college, a foundational drawing course revealed that art was more than a passion, it was a skill worth developing. Years later, during the pandemic, Valenda returned to her creative roots with renewed focus, transforming personal exploration into a professional practice spanning digital illustration, graphic design, and charcoal art.

Valenda’s work blends a modern, urban aesthetic with intentional storytelling. She approaches each project as a translator, helping brands and individuals communicate purpose, identity, and meaning through visual language rather than words alone. Her designs rely on color, texture, and symbolism to create work that feels human, accessible, and emotionally resonant.

Much of her work is informed by lived experience, with a thoughtful emphasis on representing the Black experience with honesty and depth. Rather than overt messaging, her visuals invite interpretation, connection and reflection.
